Managed another trek up to the lake entrance and back with my walking buddy. Must have had a better pace than last time on way out because we slowed way down on way back and still beat time from previous week. Right ankle did twinge a few times but feels fine now.

Thought I was on shelf for year due to injury. Had sprained right ankle while mowing on a hill. Then yesterday one walking buddy suggested we go up to the lake. I confirmed this morning and we went after breakfast. It was a leisurely pace but at least I was out moving. Maybe we can do some more soon.

Didn't realize it had been over a month since my last official walk. Had sprained big toe on right foot so that took some time to heal. Finally back out. Winter refused to get off the stage with encore after encore. Plus the ground hog never specified when the six weeks started.

Didn't press and felt pretty good afterwards. Did have some slight soreness in right ankle and right hip. Enjoyed being out in the fresh air and hearing the robins sing and and owl could be heard to the south. True sign of spring was all the dandelions I saw. Now to keep this routine going.

Got in my first walk of the year. Settling into a new schedule which should help. Only two days removed from temps hitting 60 and most of the snow from previous week melted. I did count seven ice patched on back trail including one stretch of over 20 feet where the sun hardly shines. I didn't try to press it and felt pretty good.

I did lose some weight since my last walk which shows diet is more important for that. Still been working out with light weights. However need to continue walking to improve my general health. I can tell my knees and ankles appreciate not having to support the extra load for that distance. 

This was a good start to build on for this year.
