I had no intention of walking today. Woke up with a sharp pain in my left arch. I put on my compression socks and new walking shoes for support. Felt good about having a fruit salad for lunch. Then the arch started feeling better. Something is brewing with the clouds and the wind but I decided to get out for a walk before the rains came. Had a slower pace and didn't have any major aches afterwards.

This morning went after breakfast and this afternoon was before supper. Went uphill side to start both times and really felt it in my right hip this afternoon as approached top of hill. Not sure what it was gusting but the winds tried to take my hat off a few times.

Walked in the mid afternoon. Tried to keep a slower pace so not to have same shin splint issue. Had a couple minor twinges but over all felt fine. Finished on downhill side which may have helped at end.

Planned on just taking Sunday off but Mother Nature said to take two more. I got a walk in this morning and it looks like next wave of rain could start any minute. May have pushed a little too much because of mild shin splints in my left leg. That's my good leg too.

I was totally worn out last night but did second multi mile of the year today. Went mid afternoon with a walking partner. We tried a different route I had scouted and reached the mile marker turn around in 22 minutes. It was a much flatter course. Yet I was really dragging the last half mile.

Day131 040617

Superstitious much? First official multi mile effort of the year. Did take a trip to the zoo a few weeks ago where my wife's step counter registered that we did over three miles but that included many starts and stops. The sun, hat and gloves made it tolerable but the wind really whips around on the east side where there are no barriers. Saw some bunny poop on the trail. Soon the little furries will be a common sight. Broke in a new pair of compression socks today which really helped.
