Tried to keep the pace casual as it feels like I have an aggravated groin muscle. Finished on the downhill but when I started on the incline on the backside I could feel a twinge in my right hamstring. Luckily it went away once I reached the top. I could hear an owl that was originally to the north and by the time I was on the downhill it had made its way to the south.

Went after sups as temp started to decline. Had walking buddy with me who wanted to shake it up a bit. So we went up the steep part of the hill, down the backside and when we hit the half way mark we reversed course and went back up the backside. It left me winded when we hit the top the second time.

Initially thought about resting today but changed mind after breakfast. Started on the uphill side. There are two options for going up the hill on the front side. There is a winding path that goes to the northeast which had been my choice for the longest time. The other is to attack it straight on going to the north and I have been doing that more opfen lately. I went with the second option. Usually I am watching where I am walking and don't raise my head more to appreciate how steep the incline is and that the hill is two blocks high. Was surprised again by a rain but it didn't have the strenghth nor duration as the other day. I saw more drops leave a wet impression on the ground than I actually felt. ///.... Had planned an AM\PM split but the rains not allowing for that.

Second walk of day was after lunch. Started on the uphill side and my calves thought it was a bad choice as I approached the apex. The pulled pork and cole slaw leftovers were sitting heavy in my belly. I should have waited another hour but schedule didn't allow. I would classify this as my idea of perfect weather. Nice mix of sunshine and blue skies with a good collection of white clouds swirled in. A constant breeze was rather soothing so I was comfortable in my long sleeved T-shirt. There were some angry sounds coming from the same group of trees on both the morning and afternoon walks. Could not distinguish whether it was angry squirel chatter or birds clucking.

Ventured out for a walk before lunch. Thought I could beat the next round of forecasted storms only to be ambushed by drops not far from the house. Rather than turn back I pressed on as my bucket hat, jacket and gloves were doing their jobs. My main concern was the compromised footing of the terrain. Yet I soon encountered many other obstacles on the path along the woodline. Never had I seen so many earthworms. Hundreds. I was careful to avoid stepping on them. If the birds are hungry a feast awaits!

Second walk of the day didn't go as smoothly. Started out at a pace similar to this morning. Before I hit the quarter mark my body started to rebel. First my lower back was getting really sore then shortly after that my right ankle had twinges of pain. I pulled back on the reigns and slowed to my normal pace. Felt fine once hit half mile mark.

It was a very frustrating walk after breakfast. I had tweaked my left knee yesterday so I was mindful of that going in. Yet that never really bothered me. About a quarter in the bottom of my right foot seemed to go numb and not feeling where I was stepping messed with my gait. That went away after the next quarter but I then started to be aggravated by how my upper thighs were rubbing together. Then in the last quarter my left ankle started to bother me. Once I finished everything seemed fine.
